Terms of Use

Last updated 31 October 2026 · Version 1.2

The short version

These are the full terms. Please read section 6 (subscriptions) and section 8 (AI) even if you skip the rest.

1. This agreement

These Terms of Use are a contract between you and us. By downloading, opening or using reem you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the app.

Our Privacy Policy forms part of this agreement and explains what we do with your data — including, importantly, what happens to your voice.

If we change these terms we will update the date at the top and, for any change that materially affects you, tell you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use reem after that means you accept the change; if you would rather not, you may stop using the app and cancel any subscription.

2. Who we are

reem is operated by Alex Diyan, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom. You can reach us at alexdiyan@outlook.com.

3. Who may use reem

You must be at least 13 years old to use reem. It is not designed for, or directed at, children. If you are under 18 you may use the app with a parent or guardian’s permission, but you may not subscribe — you must be 18 or over to buy a paid plan.

You must also be able to form a binding contract, and not be barred from using the app under the laws that apply to you.

4. Your account

An account is created for you the first time you open reem, so that your words have somewhere to live. You may add an email address later to secure it, and we recommend you do — it is the only way to recover your account.

Please understand two consequences of starting without an email address, both of which are also set out in the Privacy Policy:

You are responsible for what happens under your account, and for keeping your password to yourself. Tell us at once if you think someone else has access to it.

One device may create one account without an email address. This is a limit on the free allowance, not on you: you can always sign in to an account you already have.

5. Your licence to use the app

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use reem on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use, in line with these terms and the store’s rules.

You may not copy, modify, translate, reverse-engineer, decompile or attempt to extract the source code of the app, rent, sell, sublicense or redistribute it, or remove any notice of ownership from it — except to the extent the law gives you that right regardless of this clause.

6. Paid plans, billing and cancellation

The plans

reem has two optional paid subscriptions.

Neither plan is unlimited. Both keep a daily limit on spoken reviews and a weekly limit on live roleplay minutes, because each of those costs us money every time it is used. The exact allowances are listed on the upgrade screen in the app, and may change over time; if we ever remove something material from a plan you pay for, we will tell you first.

Price and period

Each plan is sold as an auto-renewing subscription, on a monthly or a weekly period. The price and the period are shown in the app before you buy, in your own currency, taken live from the App Store or Google Play. We do not state prices in this document because they differ by country and change over time; the purchase screen is always the authority.

Automatic renewal

A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period, and your account is charged through Apple or Google, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. This continues until you cancel.

Changing plan

You can move between Essential and Pro, or between weekly and monthly. Apple or Google decides how the change is charged and when it takes effect, and shows you before you confirm it.

How to cancel

You cancel through the store you bought from, not through us:

Cancelling stops the next renewal. You keep your plan until the end of the period you have already paid for, and you are not charged again after that. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

Refunds

Payments are taken by Apple or Google, so refunds are theirs to give, under their own policies — for Apple, reportaproblem.apple.com; for Google, the Play Store’s refund process. We cannot issue a refund for a purchase we did not take payment for. If something has gone wrong, please write to us anyway at alexdiyan@outlook.com and we will help you where we can.

If you are a consumer in the UK or the EU you have a statutory right to cancel a distance contract within 14 days. By starting to use a paid plan immediately after purchase you ask us to begin providing it during that period, and you acknowledge that you lose the right to cancel once it has been fully provided. Nothing here affects your legal rights as a consumer.

How live practice time is counted

On every plan, including the free one, live practice is counted by the time a call is open, from when it connects until it ends. Pressing End stops the count straight away. If the app closes unexpectedly, or your phone locks for more than about a minute and a half, the call is ended for you within about two minutes, and that time counts. An interrupted conversation can be picked up once within 24 hours, with whatever time it had left.

Trials and offers

If we offer a free trial or an introductory price, the terms are shown at the point of purchase. Unless stated otherwise, a trial converts into a paid subscription at the standard price when it ends, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before.

7. The free tier and its limits

reem is usable without paying, on purpose. The free tier is limited by volume rather than by feature: a maximum number of saved words, a daily ceiling on reviews, and a one-time allowance of roleplay minutes that does not refresh. The current numbers are shown in the app when you reach them. Free minutes are counted the same way as paid ones (see section 6, “How live practice time is counted”).

These limits are how we cover the cost of the AI behind the app, and we may change them, with notice in the app. We may also restrict or withdraw a free allowance where we reasonably believe it is being abused — for example, by creating accounts repeatedly to claim it again.

8. AI, roleplay and coaching — what they are not

This section matters more than most. Please read it.

Because the practice is realistic, a scenario may involve disagreement, pressure or an unco-operative character. That is the exercise. You can end any session at any time.

9. Your content

What you create stays yours — your sentences, your recordings, your saved words, your conversations. We claim no ownership of them.

You grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, process and transmit your content only so far as is needed to provide the app to you: to transcribe your speech, score your answers, write your feedback, and keep your history so you can see your progress. That licence ends when you delete the content or your account. We do not use your content to train AI models, and we do not use it to advertise.

You are responsible for what you put into the app, and you confirm that you have the right to submit it.

10. Our content, and the dictionary

The app, its design, its scenarios, its courses and its name belong to us or to our licensors, and are protected by copyright and trade mark law. Nothing in these terms transfers any of that to you.

Word definitions in reem draw on Wiktionary, via the Free Dictionary API, used under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 licence. Etymologies and consolidated definitions are AI-written on top of that source material.

11. Acceptable use

Please do not:

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules. Where it is fair to do so, we will warn you first.

12. Availability and changes

We try to keep reem running, but we do not promise it will always be available or uninterrupted. It depends on services we do not control, including our AI providers and the app stores.

We may change, add or remove features. If a change materially reduces what you have paid for, we will tell you, and you may cancel and ask the relevant store for a refund of the unused part.

We may discontinue reem entirely. If we do, we will give you reasonable notice and a way to export your data before it goes.

13. Ending this agreement

You may stop at any time: cancel any subscription through your store, and delete your account in the app at Profile → Delete Account. Deletion is immediate and permanent — your words, your history and your recordings go with it, and we cannot bring them back.

We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms in a serious or repeated way, if we are required to by law, or if we discontinue the app. Except where the breach makes it inappropriate, we will give you notice and a chance to export your data. If we close your account for a reason that is not your fault, we will refund the unused part of any subscription you bought from us directly.

Sections 9, 10, 14, 15 and 16 survive the end of this agreement.

14. Liability

reem is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties and do not promise that the app will be error-free, that its AI output will be accurate, or that using it will produce any particular improvement in how you communicate.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. If you are a consumer, you keep all your statutory rights, including under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, and nothing here affects them.

Subject to that: we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for loss of profit, business, opportunity or reputation, or for loss of data where you have not kept your own copy. Our total liability to you in any twelve-month period is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for reem in that period, or £50.

In particular, and for the avoidance of doubt: we are not liable for any decision you take, or any outcome in a real conversation, based on AI coaching from reem. See section 8.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the UK or in the EU, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country you live in, and may bring a claim in your local courts.

16. Apple App Store terms

If you obtained reem from the Apple App Store, the following applies and prevails over anything inconsistent above:
